Eligibility criteria for UP NMMS scholarships

In order to qualify for the Scholarship UP NMMS candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

• Students studying 8th grade in Government schools, local bodies and government-funded schools are eligible for this scheme. Students studying in 8th Class at Government, Local body and Govt.
• To be eligible for a scholarship, the students must obtain a minimum grade of 55 % or 55% in their Class 7th exam (a 5% reduction for SC/ST). The student must be registered as a regular in any Government or Government-aided school.
• Parents’ incomes from any source should not exceed Rs. A parent’s income should not be more than Rs. With the application, a Parental Income certificate issued by Chandigarh Administration is required.
• The NMMS scholarship program does not offer scholarships to students enrolled in a ‘Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) or a ‘Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS).
• Applicants who wish to get a scholarship into higher secondary schools must obtain at least 60% on the Class 10 Board Exam.
• The recipient of the scholarship must be able to pass the class 11 exam in the first attempt, with at least a score equivalent to 55%. SC/ST categories are entitled to a relaxation of 5% in their grades.
